Thoughts on the Brae
Our wee boy Calum has been riding at the Brae since it opened and he loves it! Before Calum started riding he had very little speech and it was difficult to find an activity that didn't require him to have great speech and language skills.
> From day one his little face lit up as soon as he went on the horse and he soon learned phrases like "Walk on" and "Well done Salsa!"
> Now we are not saying that Calum learned to talk because he was riding a horse, but we do believe it gave him confidence and a great sense of pride in himself which must have had an effect because he suddenly started to try out new words. Those few words turned into sentences and now he is conversational! Calum looks forward to his time at the Brae and we were very proud parents when he managed to achieve his RDA Grade 1 certificate last year. We hope that he can continue to improve and benefit from this excellent facility! A sense of belonging and achievement is extremely important for any child' s development and we feel that Calum has definitely had this experience here resulting in a very happy and confident little boy.
